Affiliate to EGAS
The Educational Grants Advisory Service (EGAS) is a charitable organisation
that relies on affiliations from educational institutions to be
able to offer a service that is free to students. EGAS provides a service
to educational institutions through the provision of expert guidance and
advice on a wide range of funding sources available for post-16 education.
Affiliation runs from 1st September to 31st August each year at a cost
of £325.
Core services for Affiliates
The core services that EGAS provides to affiliates are:
- On-line Guide to student funding: Access to the on-line version
of the Guide, updated throughout the year.
- On-line funding database search: Students can conduct a search
for trust funding on-line.
- FWA Trust Funds: Family Welfare Association (FWA) administers
a number of educational trust funds, which distributed over 1,400 small
grants totalling more than £275,000. These funds are only available
to eligible students from affiliated organisations.
- Help-line: A dedicated help-line for advisers and welfare officers
of affiliates providing advice and information on funding available
for post-16 education (2pm to 4 pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).

the Family Welfare Association
(FWA) which was established in 1869 and provides support
to some of the poorest families in the community.
